The Detroit Tigers were victorious in Baltimore Monday night (May 12) in the first of a three-game series against the Orioles. However, things got heated after Tigers right fielder Torii Hunter was struck by a pitch from Orioles starting pitcher Bud Norris.
As the Detroit Free Press reports, Hunter was hit in the ribs by Norris after giving up a two-run homer to Ian Kinsler. Obviously Hunter was not pleased and made sure Norris knew it, who was ejected from the game. Both teams' benches proceeded to clear out but luckily no punches were thrown.
Deadspin points out another odd incident during the scrum as Umpire Paul Nauert gently tapped Hunter on the face.
Hunter was apparently not upset with Nauert and called the official his, "buddy."
