The Fulton-Middleton high school basketball team was hoping to go to overtime in last night's (March 12) Class D regional championship game against Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart. Unfortunately for them, Sacred Heart threw up a miracle shot that ended the game in regulation.
The game was tied 47-47 with only seconds to go in the fourth quarter at Big Rapids High School. Sacred Heart's Brooks Hyble attempted a lob pass while inbounding the ball from half court, but he threw it too hard and it bounced off the backboard.
Dustin Neyer ended up with the ball and got off a wild shot before the buzzer sounded. The shot hit the backboard and clunked around the rim before going in.
As MLive shares, Sacred Heart advances to the state quarterfinals against Frankfort on Tuesday, March 18, at Cadillac High School.
