Senators' Chris Neil Tries to Fight Red Wings' Johan Franzen Post-Concussion

Detroit Red Wings' Johan Franzén has been sharpening his skills back on the ice since he suffered a concussion in December. The Mule's recovery seems to have went well after a 6-1 beating the Wings put on the Ottawa Senators last night (February 27), netting himself a hat trick in the process. However, a dirty play by Sens enforcer Chris Neil threaten to make things worse.

With less than six minutes left in the third period, Neil threw his gloves and took Franzen's helmet off.

That right there is a douchebag move by Chris Neil. He knows Franzen missed 22 games because of his concussion. Some will say that if Franzen is healthy enough to be on the ice, he's fair game. As Chris Osgood said, players usually protect other players out of respect.

“He usually shows up when the game is over and tries to be the hero,” Franzen told the Ottawa Citizen (via NBC Sports). “Puts his cape on and goes and flies out there."
