The Locker Room > Watch Scarlett Johansson's Banned Super Bowl Ad for SodaStream Watch Scarlett Johansson's Banned Super Bowl Ad for SodaStream Posted on 1/27/2014 2:20:00 PM by Dave Kim YouTube Scarlett Johansson is one of the most beautiful women in the world. However, that hasn't stopped Fox from banning the Avengers star's new ad from airing during the Super Bowl. It's a well known fact that the most remembered Super Bowl commercials are the ones that amp the sexiness factor. Just ask any guy about Go Daddy's Super Bowl ads featuring Go Daddy Girls. Johansson's latest commercial for SodaStream didn't get the green light from Fox, who is airing the big game, but not for the reason you would think. While Esquire magazine's "Sexiest Woman Alive" certainly lives up to the title wearing a form-fitting dress and sipping soda seductively, it's the competitors SodaStream takes a shot at that earned the DIY soda maker its ban. The line of, "Sorry, Coke and Pepsi," is what did the ad in. Pepsi and Coca-Cola are two of the biggest advertisers during the Super Bowl. Fox must have wanted to avoid any kind of backlash from the two soda titans. SodaStream CEO Daniel Birnbaum wasn't too pleased with the decision, telling USA Today (via Business Insider): "Which advertiser in America doesn't mention a competitor? This is the kind of stuff that happens in China. I'm disappointed as an American." Some are accusing SodaStream of intentionally submitting an ad they knew would get rejected so they can take advantage of the press coverage. The company went through the same thing with their Super Bowl ad last year. SodaStream will edit out the Coke and Pepsi line so that the commercial will air February 2 during the Super Bowl.
