San Francisco 49ers fans could not have asked for a better ending to the final regular season game at Candlestick Park last night (December 23). 49ers linebacker Navorro Bowman delivered a moment to be remembered for decades to come after securing his team's playoff status with an interception against the Atlanta Falcons.
It was quite the turnaround after Atlanta only trailed by three, 27-24, with two minutes left in the fourth quarter. The Falcons recovered the ball after their kickoff to the 49ers and Bowman let it bounce past him. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was on the verge of casting a dark cloud over the final minutes at Candlestick until 49ers cornerback Tramaine Brock tipped the ball right into Bowman's eager hands for the touchdown.

As ESPN explains, it is possible for San Francisco to gain home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. However, the more likely scenario is that the 49ers end up the fifth seed with a win against the Arizona Cardinals next week. Either way, when Candlestick Park is demolished and the 49ers move to Levi's Stadium next year, their new home will have a lot to live up to.
