Austin Jackson has been named the Tigers Defensive Player of the Year for a second straight season. Jackson beat out Andy Dirks, who was a finalist for an AL Gold Glove Award this year. Tigers rookie Jose Iglesias was not eligible for the award because he played just 46 games with Detroit. A player has to play a minimum of 80 games with a team to qualify. Red Sox second basemen Dustin Pedroia was named the American League Defensive Player of the Year. Diamondbacks outfielder Gerardo Parra was named in the National League.
