Pistons open with a win

The Pistons are off to a good start. Greg Monroe had 24 points and 16 rebounds in a 113-102 win against the Wizards in the regular season opener last night at The Palace. Josh Smith added 19 points. Chauncey Billups had 16 points and five assists after re-signing with Detroit in the offseason. Guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who was a first-round selection, had nine points, two assists and two steals. The Pistons will play in Memphis on Friday night.
