  • DeKeyser And Red Wings Reach New Deal

    The Red Wings have signed defenseman Danny DeKeyser to a two-year, 4.375 million dollar deal. DeKeyser had four goals, 23 points and a plus-10 rating last season in Detroit. The Michigan native signed with the Red Wings in 2013 as an undrafted free agent out of Western Michigan. DeKeyser and his teammates will report to training camp today in Traverse City. Detroit will practice for the first time on Friday morning, while the preseason opens on Monday night in Pittsburgh.   Read More
  • Twins Score Late To Beat The Tigers

    The Tigers came up short last night in Minnesota. J.D. Martinez gave Detroit a 3-2 lead with a three-run homer in the ninth. The Twins then plated two runs in the bottom of the inning off Joe Nathan and earned a 4-3 win. Starter Rick Porcello with a no-decision. Porcello worked eight innings, allowing two runs on seven hits with five strikeouts. The Tigers remain 1 1/2-games ahead of Kansas City in the AL Central following the Royals 7-5 loss to the White Sox. Detroit will play again tonight at Target Field with David Price on the mound. Minnesota will counter with Kyle Gibson.
